Product Description
Alcohol Cleaner is an essential part of the preparation process, and should be used just before any repair or colour work is started.
If you are undertaking a restoration project you should use the Leather Prep first, then the Alcohol Cleaner.
The Alcohol Cleaner essentially removes any silicones which may have been present as feel modifiers in the original finish. These silicones may not be soluble in the Leather Prep, so it is important to use the Alcohol Cleaner to ensure the repair products adhere properly.

Simply wet a cloth in the Alcohol Cleaner and rub it onto the damaged area of leather.
The Alcohol Cleaner will remove dirt, grease and grime from the surface of the leather. If the finish is weak it will also remove some colour. This process is required to prepare the leather for colouring and repairs. You should clean a slightly larger area than what you need to repair.
After using the Alcohol Cleaner you would then proceed to make any repairs or re-colour the leather.
Can this be used for cleaning leather?
No, Alcohol Cleaner is for neutralising the surface of the leather, after using Leather Prep and removing any silicones from the leather which may cause adhesion problems.
If you are looking to simply clean your leather, we recommend using our Leather Cleaner.
Can Alcohol Cleaner be used to remove the leather finish?
In some cases, yes, however you should use the Leather Prep for this. The Alcohol Cleaner will only remove an extremely worn or abraded finish.
You know when the finish has been removed as you will see colour transferring onto your cloth.
When should I be using Alcohol Cleaner?
Alcohol Cleaner should be used before making any repairs. If you are also using Leather Prep, use the Alcohol Cleaner after.
It can also be used after you have degreased leather, or after making repairs. This way the surface of the leather will always be clean before you proceed to the next step.
