    Product Description

The Liquid Leather Degreaser is a powerful degreasing agent, developed specifically for tackling greasy or oily areas. It is incredibly effective at removing grease stains from leather, with a special blend of solvents that work to break the grease down for easy removal.

    For lighter areas/surface grease

The Liquid Leather Degreaser will remove the grease incredibly quickly, without the need for any additional products or procedures. Just use an absorbent cloth to apply the product to the affected area and watch the grease disappear.

    For heavily greased areas

If the Leather is heavily contaminated with grease then you should use the Leather Degreaser (gel degreaser) as well, to help draw out the grease from deep within the leather.
See the instructions for more information on how to do this.

Liquid Leather Degreaser will eliminate any surface grease, and thin any contamination that may have penetrated deeper, into the fibre structure, making it easier to extract with the Leather Degreaser.

In most instances, before applying colour or repair products to leather, wipe the surface with Liquid Leather Degreaser to remove any contamination easily. If the grease/oil stain is worse, follow the below instructions.

    Pigmented/Coated Leathers
Clean the leather thoroughly with our Leather Cleaner.
Remove the pigmented surface with Leather Prep, exposing the bare (aniline) leather underneath.
Apply a generous amount of the Liquid Leather Degreaser to a cloth and rub in a circular motion, working from the outside to the inside of the affected area. Applying heavy pressure to the cloth will assist in the removal of any surface grease.
Keep re-applying the Liquid Leather Degreaser until the stain is removed.
For more heavily contaminated areas, use this in conjunction with the Leather Degreaser.

    Aniline or Pull-up leather
Clean the Leather first with our Leather Cleaner.
Apply a generous amount of the Liquid Leather Degreaser to a cloth and rub in a circular motion from the outside to the centre of the affected area. Applying heavy pressure to the cloth will assist in the removal of the grease.
Continue to work the Liquid Leather Degreaser to the rest of the affected area, working from the outside towards the middle, until you have treated the entire area.
Leave to dry and repeat the process until the dark, grease stained area becomes lighter, indicating that grease and colour have been removed by the Liquid Leather Degreaser.
For more heavily contaminated areas, use this in conjunction with the Leather Degreaser.

    Suede and Nubuck

Clean the area first with Suede & Nubuck Cleaner.
Apply a generous amount of Liquid Leather Degreaser to an absorbent cloth and rub in a circular motion. You should clean the full panel with the Liquid Leather Degreaser so the panel darkens evenly, concentrating more on the stained area. Do not rub too hard to avoid damaging the pile.
Continue working in the Liquid Leather Degreaser to the rest of the affected area, working from the outside towards the centre of the stain, until you have treated the full area.

Leave to dry and repeat process until the dark mark has been removed.

    Q. I have pigmented leather, which is showing signs of grease stains, can I use it on this?

    A. Yes, however as pigmented leather has a surface coating of finish, this may stop the Degreaser form being as productive as it should be.

To remove the grease quickly, you should remove the old finish by using the Leather Prep before degreasing.

    Q. How do I know when all the grease has been removed?

    A. For heavily contaminated areas you should be using both the Liquid Leather Degreaser, and the Leather Degreaser.

When the Leather Degreaser dries completely white there is no contamination left in the leather.

For lightly soiled areas, continue using the Liquid Leather Degreaser until the dark patch has lightened to the same colour, or lighter colour then the leather.

    Q. I have degreased the area but it has lightened the colour of the leather, is this normal?

    A. Yes, it is normal to see some colour transfer/ colour fade when degreasing leather. As the grease or oils are drawn out of the leather, sometimes it will draw out colour at the same time.

This can easily be restored by using one of our Leather Restoration Products.

    Q. Can I use this on any type of leather?

A.Yes, the Liquid Leather Degreaser is safe to use on all types and colours of leather accept Bicast.
